A double shot of shiny wagons!

Hemming Motor News had two articles this week on custom wagons. I read all of the sites in my reader feed faithfully but often I wish that there were more wagon related posts. Guess I’ll have to wish for something else this week as these two items are certainly a breath of fresh air for any wagon junkie. I’ll show you the goods in this post and the following one.

The first is a classified ad at Hemmings. It appears that someone is selling a 1958 Plymouth Sport Suburban with a factory Dual-Quad “Golden Commando” 305ci V8. I’ve long been a fan of the Sport Suburban wagons. While I’m a big fan of ’70’s and 80’s sleeper’s the 50’s models hearken back to the earliest days when wagons roamed the earth and this ’58 is the epitome of the wagons of that time period. This is a rare bird and that Golden Commando engine makes it the rarest of the rare. The seller claims that this car is a 2 owner, rust free California car that has undergone a full restoration (obviously), and has documentation from Chrysler confirming it to be a numbers matching all original car. If ever there were a drool worthy wagon, this beast would be it. I couldn’t imagine a nicer example of long-roofed goodness. Now if I just had a larger garage…and $83,000 to spare.
